Shell dwellers (Neolamprologus multifasciatus). These small African species are hardy, easy to keep, and demand low maintenance but require an aquarium of their own. This charismatic fish originate from Lake Tanganyika, considered one of the smallest cichlids in the world but comes with the largest personality. Shell dwellers display unique habits and interactions making them one of the most entertaining fish to observe.
A minimal set such as our shallow rimless aquariums with plain sand and plenty of shells, rocks, or husks to hide in is to be expected, these fish prefer to live in groups to reduce territorial and hostile behavior. This fish likes to dig, therefore deep layer of soft sand is most recommended.
