This fish develops its beautiful red color after spending a few months in a stable aquarium, it arrives with gold and black lines when first introduced. Generally very peaceful making it an ideal resident of the well-researched community aquarium. It places no special demands in terms of water chemistry it can be combined with many of the most popular fish in the hobby.
It’s a schooling species by nature, maintaining a group of 6-10 will result in a more effective, natural looking display, plus males will develop better colours in the presence of conspecific rivals

On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as “Large” or “Adult”.
