The Moonspot Gourami (Parosphromenus linkei), known as Licorice Gourami can be maintained like other genus in this species under fairly dim lighting which where it generally does best as well as adding aquatic plant species that can survive under such conditions such as Microsorum, Taxiphyllum or Cryptocoryne sp., while floating vegetation, especially Ceratopteris sp. is also useful. Filtration need not to be too strong, with an air-powered sponge filter or similar adequate. Chiefly a micropredator that feeds on tiny aquatic invertebrates, this species must be offered a variety of smalll live food such as Artemia nauplii, Daphnia, Moina, mosquito larvae, microworm, etc.
Fish Size Guide:
The ‘Maximum Size’ outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.
Discus.ae prefers younger stock for their better ability to adapt to new water parameters and higher tolerance against transport. On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as “Large” or “Adult”.
