Commonly referred to as Ancistrus sp. “Super Red”. The ancistrus catfish, also known as the bristlenose pleco, is an efficient algae eater especially when it’s younger and unlike the common pleco which is generally found in most aquarium stores – this fish does not grow large and remains between 4 to 6 inches in size.
This bottom dweller makes an excellent companion to our Stendker discus and does not bother or attack other fishes, however it is important to ensure that it is supplemented with its own diet if there is not enough algae and left overs in the aquarium.
