Apistogramma Hongsloi is a rare and fairly robust dwarf cichlid from Columbia, an entirely domestic strain which is the result of extensive line breeding.
Females and Juveniles are mostly yellow/gray while adult males are larger and display a colorful appearance. Feeds on a diet containing krill, which is a tiny crustacean and rich in color enhancing pigments which helps pronounce the coloration on males. We recommend our TetraPro Colour flakes and some of the available frozen krill options in our food section to provide this fish optimum nutrition for growth and color development.
As with most cichlids, this fish is best kept in either a pair or a larger group to minimize territorial behavior. Shelter and hiding spaces such as plants, wood, or rocks will provide this fish a more comfortable environment.
Fish Size Guide:
The ‘Maximum Size’ outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.
Discus.ae prefers younger stock for their better ability to adapt to new water parameters and higher tolerance against transport. On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as “Large” or “Adult”.
