Redtail Goodeid (Xenotoca eiseni) also known as Orangetail Goodeid and Redtail Splitfin, is a rare and exotic livebearer with males showing their best coloration in planted aquariums with darker bottoms.
This hardy fish is unpredictable toward other species, it can be a good community fish with larger more active species but also known to be aggressive in other conditions, it should not be housed with corydoras and other sensitive bottom feeders which can become targeted and mistaken for food.
Fish Size Guide:
The ‘Maximum Size’ outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.
Discus.ae prefers younger stock for their better ability to adapt to new water parameters and higher tolerance against transport. On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as “Large” or “Adult”.
